Content Ambassadors and Health and Safety Experts

HSE Network is about connecting experts in health and safety with those who are looking to learn more about the profession. With our partners at the HSE Global Series, we work alongside key minds not only in health and safety but also in other spheres. Some of the notable members of our advisory board include: Sir Clive Woodward, Erik Hollnagel, Ron Gantt, Ruth Denyer, and John Green.

Health and Safety Advisory Members

Our Content Ambassadors also form part of the HSE Global Series & Association Partners and have been selected by HSE Network to support the direction of our content, provide us with industry-leading insights, and to provide an ear to the ground on what the community wants and needs. Our content providers give you the content and thought leadership to develop your skillset and perform within your health and safety job role.

The HSE Network sources experts from a variety of different fields with knowledge drawn from academic, sporting, and professional backgrounds. The health and safety content ambassadors also come from a variety of industries, with members from construction, oil and gas, and the governing bodies like IOSH and NEBOSH.

Sir Clive Woodward OBE
Business Speaker and Executive Coach
Hive Learning

Sir Clive Woodward represented England Rugby at both a playing and managerial level in addition to extensive executive-level business experience. Clive supports the Network through interviews and talks with the Global Series.

Hive Learning focuses on providing a digital framework for businesses on how to improve leadership, resilience, wellbeing, and innovation. These three areas are important in health and safety and Sir Clive has decades of experience in the field. In addition to Sir Clive’s work in sport, Clive also works with us on content around improving health and safety leadership and creating the right environment for health and safety to prosper.

Jason Anker MBE

Anker and Marsh

Jason Anker was paralysed from the waist down when he was 24 years old, due to an avoidable accident. Since a chance meeting with a health and safety expert, Jason has been sharing his experiences and his knowledge within the industry to highlight the effects of his accident.

He is also the chairman and director of Anker and Marsh offering training, assessment, and consultancy to businesses.

Jason offers some unique insight into how wellbeing and behavioural safety can be influenced in the modern workplace to support and empower workers to engage safely with their work.

Ron Gantt
Director of Innovation and Operations

Ron Gantt has 18 years of experience working with a variety of organisations across sectors including construction, utilities, biotech and chemical manufacturing. In addition to his expertise, Ron is also owner and contributor at safetydifferently.com.

Ron Gantt has worked with the Network on content for a number of years and has provided expertise on subjects like safety management, system safety, human factors, resilience engineering, organizational learning, and leadership.

Gerry Mulholland
HSEQ Director
Amey Utilities

Gerry Mulholland is currently the HSEQ Director for Amey Utilities covering Water, Power & Telecoms and Metering portfolios. He has over 30 years experience in a wide variety of HSE roles within the construction and energy sectors and is currently leading the Amey Utilities 2020 Challenge to ensure “no street work excavations are left open overnight by 2020”.

Gerry Mulholland has contributed articles and video content for the HSE Network in areas such as behaviorual safety and safety leadership. Gerry offers unique insight from the position of Health, Safety, Enviroment and Quality positon.

James Pomeroy
Group HSES Director
Lloyd’s Register United Kingdom

James Pomeroy is the Group HSES Director for Lloyd’s Register and is responsible for advocating and delivering high standards, thought leadership and best practice in health, safety, environmental and security management across global operations.

James has been involved in leading and transforming global HSES programmes in a variety of sectors, including oil and gas, aviation, mining and heavy manufacturing. The interviews with James focus on his expertise on safety, quality and safety performance.

John Green
Vice President Global HSE
SNC Lavalin

John Green has 40 years’ of quality EHS experience with time spent in the oil, gas, petrochemical, electronics, heavy engineering, construction and aviation sectors. John’s key area of expertise is safety differently. John has also had senior experience in British Airways and Motorola.

Providing content for the Network, John offers experience from a director level position with further experience in oil, aviation, utilities and electronics. John also has expertise in ISO 14001 and ISO 18000.

Professor Tim Marsh
Managing Director
Anker & Marsh

Professor Tim Marsh was one of the original team leaders of the research into behavioural safety in the 1990s. Since then he has worked with around 400 major companies and is considered a respected authority on behavioural safety, safety leadership and organisational culture.

Tim is passionate about encouraging companies to adopt a holistic approach to good well-being culture in the workplace.

We have worked with Tim Marsh for a number of years in delivering content on safety culture and mental wellbeing.

Brian Wedemeyer
Vice President, EHS
Global Soft Trades

Whilst attending Texas A&M University, Brian Wedemeyer worked as a roustabout for Rowan Drilling. Following graduation, Brian was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps. Brian’s experience in health and safety include time spent as the director for HSE compliance where he oversaw the health, safety and environmental performance of a large industrial maintenance service provider.

Brian Wedemeyer also has experience in the petrochemical and construction industry. Other areas of expertise include risk management systems, and safety leadership.

Lianne Gray
Business Development
Eurofins Workplace Drug Testing

Lianne Gray has a degree in Biochemistry and has worked in the field of Drug and Alcohol testing for 21 years. She is an experienced Account, Project, and Contracts manager working with a range of customers to implement and shape successful testing regimes.

In addition to this experience, Liane also has experience in sales in the criminal justice division.
