Full Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Community Safety Officer to work as part of our Community Safety Team within Calico Homes in Burnley.
The role will require you to work alongside colleagues and partners with the aim of reducing and Anti-social behaviour (ASB), hate crime and domestic abuse in our neighbourhoods. You will manage ASB, hate crime and domestic abuse reports always ensuring positive outcomes for our customers and communities.
The successful candidate will be experienced in responding to and dealing with anti-social behaviour, be values driven and able to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be confident in managing all aspects of ASB using a harm centred and personalised approach, including complex case management, variety of interventions, preparation of legal paperwork and court attendance. You will have excellent communication skills and an ability to manage a complex workload while meeting tight deadlines. You will have good negotiation, influencing, organisational skills and an ability to engage with a diverse range of customers and partners using a personalised approach.
You will support the Community Safety Coordinator to give assurance around ASB, hate crime and domestic abuse case performance and to deliver positive change in our neighbourhoods.

Day in the life of a community safety officer
- Deliver a harm centred approach within our community safety service
- Undertake detailed investigations
- Gather evidence, take statements, prepare case files and provide evidence for legal proceedings
- Use a range of tools and interventions to prevent and tackle asb, domestic abuse and hate crime
- Work with key partners to provide innovative solutions to community safety issues in our neighbourhoods
- Complete risk assessments, action plans and safeguarding referrals
- Managing your own caseload
- Be visible in Neighbourhoods to build positive relationships
- Making sure all IT systems are updated accurately and timely
