We are looking to hire an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern at Hull on 12 months Fixed Term basis. As an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern, you will be working as part of the EHS team to support our operational teams working in the manufacturing environment on daily basis. The challenges and opportunities are varied in nature and may include assisting EHS inspections, audit preparations, assisting with incident investigations, EHS improvements, data collection, data analysis, identifying environment saving and other supporting tasks when and if required. Occasionally you might be required to work various shifts.
Note: All shortlisted candidates must be available to attend an Assessment Centre on Tuesday 5th December 2023 (full day) at Hull University.
Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:
  • Technically understand some manufacturing issues
  • Be part of developing innovative safety or environmentally friendly solutions and then help deploy them, under supervision, to improve the overall performance of the factory
  • You will experience first-hand the challenges faced by today’s EHS Department in the manufacturing sector and gain an in-depth insight into EHS and manufacturing operations at a modern high-tech facility

  • Students who are current studying towards a degree and looking to complete a 12-month placement as part of your degree
  • You will have good analytical skills and strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good problem solving and reasoning skills
  • Capable of learning and retaining new skills
  • A practical and hands on aptitude
  • Be flexible when it comes to working hours
  • Be proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to set priorities and manage to tight deadlines
  • Ability to use initiative
