Reporting into Senior Health & Safety Advisor, the Health & Safety Advisor will assist IMG in the compliance of Health & Safety statutory requirements, industry best practice and group policy and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

To provide operational support and advice to a diverse group within the organisation on the following aspects of Health & Safety:
• Operations (including the giving of appropriate advice at planning and pre-contract stages);
• Review of the safety management plans and risk assessments
• Participate in projects and initiatives to ensure compliance with statute legislation and group policy and procedure
• To assist the Senior Health & Safety Advisor and VP of Health & Safety in the analysis and reporting of health and safety performance against statutory requirements, with recommendation for action as necessary
• Support the continuous improvement of the Group safety performance by pro-active, timely, risk based advice;
• Assist management in review of their safety management arrangements for their events and productions
• Review risk assessments and assist where required during the planning phase
• Undertake planned H&S visits to events/productions to review management of safety and application of arrangements
• Complete DSE assessments
• Assist in the identification of Occupational Health issues and solutions
• Complete Expectant Mother Assessments and PEEPs in conjunction with HR
• Assist Office Admin with compliance in buildings management
• Assist Office Admin and the H&S Administrator on compliance with First Aid and Fire Warden arrangements
• Provide support to the Group’s Health & Safety Committees and take part in consultation with employees
• Assist managers in accident investigations
• Deal with local authorities and enforcement agencies when necessary
• Undertake vetting of health and safety performance of contractors
• Deliver training in line with Group training programme
• Develop the content of the departmental web site
• You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job

Required Qualifications (Knowledge & Experience)
• Experience in delivering effective safety advice to a diverse international organisation;
• Experience delivering training content at all levels of seniority
• Understanding different and new ways to approach H&S in the workplace
• A confident communicator, both written and oral
• Competent using Microsoft Office
• Ability to facilitate and resolve issues
• Balance the creative/editorial vision with operational safety compliance
• A flexible and pragmatic approach to fast moving and evolving operational requirements
• Ability to work within a small team at times under pressure to tight deadlines
• Minimum requirements NEBOSH General or International Certificate or NCRQ Certificate; Willingness to work towards NEBOSH Diploma/NCRQ/NVQ within an agreed timeframe
• Demonstrable in-depth understanding of essential H&S Legislation

• Experience of the events, or TV production industry
• Experienced in reviewing and writing policy and guidance documents
• Specialist areas of knowledge, e.g. TDS, Crown Dynamics, Work at Height, Fire Risk Management
• Previous operational production, media, events experience
• Experience in engaging with third party contractors and freelancers
• Some progress towards completing NEBOSH Diploma/NCRQ/NVQ
• Risk Management/H&S experience gained in-house in a related field
• Training qualification /experience
• Experience of making presentations at all levels of seniority within a large complex organisation
• Experience of working in a dynamic creative environment
• Understands the TV production process across all genres

Working Conditions
• This is a fixed term (6 month) position
• Please note, we are operating on a remote working set up until lockdown restrictions have been lifted. Thereafter, the role will be based at Chiswick Park
• Working hours are 9:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
• Due to the working schedules of our key areas of business it may on occasion be necessary to work outside of the standard 9-5 Monday to Friday week
• It may be necessary to respond to emergency calls out of hours
• Although the role is based in Chiswick our activities are global, so on occasion it may be necessary to carry out site visits both nationally and internationally
