We were founded by vets, for vets. Our experience led us to create a comprehensive solution flexible enough to help any veterinary practice focus on what matters most: caring for animals. To do it, we brought together a best-in-class wholesale distributor (Centaur Services), a practice management software innovator (Vet Space), and two buying groups with relationships across the industry (St Francis Group and Vetswest). The result is MWI Animal Health.
MWI Animal Health is looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental Business Partner to be based in our Castle Cary office. We are looking for someone who has the right attitude and motivation. We are happy to nurture and upskill where we can.
The role will involve:
- Collaborate with key leaders at MWI to successfully cultivate and embed a robust Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture, while advancing organisational knowledge.
- Support leaders in developing, implementing, and driving the HSE strategy and vision within operational frameworks.
- Assume responsibility for incident reporting and investigations, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) when necessary.
- Provide management with HSE performance statistics and trend analyses, utilising data to mitigate risks and drive positive change.
- Coach, develop, and deliver comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental training to leaders and operational teams.
- Facilitate the successful implementation and maintenance of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, continuously improving HSE systems.
- Develop, implement, and embed Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Develop and support emergency preparedness plans for all sites.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure the adoption of best practices in Safety and Sustainability.
- Regular travel will be required within role

- Previous experience as a Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator or similar role is advantageous.
- Ideally, possession of a NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Membership with IOSH and/or IIRSM at the Technician level.
- Understanding of Environmental awareness, with a relevant qualification preferred.
- Preferably certified as an internal auditor for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others effectively.
- Strong prioritisation and organisational abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated trustworthiness and ability to maintain confidentiality.
