Health & Safety Manager
We are looking for a reliable Health and Safety Manager who will work with our Operations and Facilities teams to enhance, promote and ensure staff compliance with health and safety management practices across all of our services. As a safety manager, you must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards. You will also be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programmes.
Our office is in George Square, Glasgow, and we currently offer hybrid working options.
The role:
- Maintaining a high level of knowledge and expertise in all areas of Health & Safety compliance.
- Proactively collaborating on Health and Safety projects.
- Providing guidance on Health & Safety matters to all stakeholders.
- Review and audit arrangements for Health & Safety management while continuously improving these arrangements where appropriate.
- Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for Health and Safety incidents.
- Provide management with information and statistics related to your area of responsibility.
- Ensure that risk assessment work requirements are met.
- Implement and review safety policies, ensuring that local legislative requirements are met.
The candidate:
- Relevant experience, degree or professional qualification e.g. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Subject matter expert on health and safety legislation and regulation
- Experience in implementing health and safety management systems, including developing policies, guidance and auditing.
- Clear CRB and a satisfactory Credit Check
- Full and satisfactory employment references
- Confident with the ability to work well under pressure and excellent communications skills
