Job Role: Health & Safety Officer

Salary: £27,800 per year

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract type: Permanent

Location: South West – Covering Exeter, Dorset, Somerset

Additional information:

  • A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle – business insurance will be required for roles involving travel for work
  • Please note this role is very much out and about on the road, therefore we are looking for candidates who are happy with travel across the South West

The Role

As a Health & Safety Officer, you will be an integral part of our small yet dynamic Health, Safety, and Facilities team. You will be responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety, including conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments, and ensuring these are accurately recorded. Additionally, you will support our teams in fulfilling their Health & Safety responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with management to ensure Health & Safety compliance is achieved in services, offices and other premises
  • Support teams to fulfil their Health & Safety responsibilities across our projects
  • Liaise with housing associations, private landlords and other providers to ensure compliance paperwork is received for our buildings
  • Undertake Health & Safety inspections, including risk assessments, of our buildings and write up reports and recommendations
  • Maintain all necessary records in accordance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Carry out, within reason, any other duties necessary to achieve the smooth running of the service and undertake other organisational duties, which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle – business insurance will be required for roles involving travel for work
  • Experience in Health & Safety, ideally within the housing sector or a related fields
