JOB TITLE: HSEQ Manager Viberoptix

JOB LOCATION: GB (Cumbria)

TERMS: Permanent

THE JOB

The HSEQ Manager takes a leading role in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of employees and the environment.

As part of this role you will be responsible for ensuring HSEQ compliance across our Viberoptix business, contribute to the development of HESQ strategies and measuring their effectiveness and driving forward a proactive HSEQ culture.

This is Hybrid role and will involve a balance of working remotely and working from our office based in Cumbria.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Provide assistance and contribute to the effective delivery of our ISO Integrated Management Systems.
  • Provide input into the development, delivery, measuring (KPI’s) and maintenance of effective and proactive strategies.
  • To support the development and delivery of internal/external training to operational teams (and other parties, where required) in line with agreed competency programmes.
  • Support operational managers and project teams on a broad range of HSEQ issues, helping them to embed policy and process where appropriate.
  • Provide technical advice to operational teams in the investigation and resolution of accidents and incidents.
  • Support operational teams in implementing appropriate and robust assurance ‘systems’ across the Business unit, to ensure that they are relevant to operational needs and encourage a consistently high level of governance and performance.
  • Support operational teams in measuring the effectiveness of HSEQ policy implementation through inspection/audit and the review of appropriate performance measures.
  • Provide intelligence to the business on existing / emerging HSEQ legal requirements and sector/client-specific standards.
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders across the Fibrus Group so as we have one comprehensive reporting structure for our performance.
  • Work in partnership with the Viberoptix unit of Fibrus Group to deliver common reporting, meeting, strategies, policies and procedures.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

  • Qualification in a relevant subject related to construction health and safety management (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate) or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • Experience in implementing ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 Management Systems.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of managing CDM Requirements on large scale projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of working to the Safety at street works and road works: a code of practice 2013.
  • Sound working knowledge of HSEQ law, and relevant sector-specific HSEQ standards in relation to construction/telecoms.
  • CertIOSH membership of IOSH is desirable. (Consideration given to those with other membership or equivalent.)
  • Leadership and Strategic Management Skills. Proven record of leading HSEQ teams and implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Experience in driving safety culture improvement programmes across a diverse workforce
  • Ability to investigate incidents thoroughly and identify root causes.
  • Capacity to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and frontline employees.
  • Ability to convey complex HSEQ information in a clear and concise manner to a diverse audience.
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
