JOB TITLE: HSE ADVISOR (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as focal point for contract activities on HSE matters, both onshore and offshore.
  • Represent the Company and its HSE management system to Clients and Subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with client HSE representatives and Petrofac personnel to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Advise on HSE legislative changes and industry initiatives.
  • Actively participate in company and client initiatives and support contract implementation.
  • Assist the development and implementation of contract HSE objectives and targets in line with the Petrofac HSE Strategy.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of Petrofac HSE themes, campaigns, and initiatives alongside the Eni themes as requested.
  • Prepare HSE reports and statistics for contract / asset for internal and external reporting.
  • Identify and review improvements to task procedures and methods of working.
  • Review and maintain the contract HSE interface agreement.
  • Investigate and review near misses, accidents and incidents that involve Petrofac personnel.
  • Complete regular offshore site visits, monitoring activities and processes, meeting staff and providing briefings.
  • Participate in HSE audits as required or requested by the client.
  • Maintain Petrofac’s incident database and seek to resolve and close out actions arising.
  • Interface with the Petrofac Occupational Health contractor and site Medics.
  • Attend and participate in Company and Client HSE meetings.
  • Be an active member of the HSE Team, sharing activities and supporting other team members.
  • Assist in the development, and ensure implementation of, the annual Field HSE plan.
  • Act as an HSE focal point for communication between onshore and offshore teams and the Aberdeen HSE team.
  • Co-ordinate and disseminate health & safety information and legislation and advise on implementation.
  • Update management system procedures and other legislative documentation.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Formal qualification in a health or safety related discipline essential.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent degree-level qualification desirable.
  • IOSH and / or IEMA Membership preferred.
  • Current BOSIET and MIST.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and team skills.
  • Good working knowledge of UK HS&E legislation and experience.
  • Demonstrating compliance with relevant legislation through audit and assurance.
  • Demonstrable achievement in drafting and implementing HS&E improvement objectives and plans.
  • Experience in regulatory liaison and hosting inspections from regulatory agencies, for example HSE and BEIS.
  • Good level of computer literacy.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise with all levels within Petrofac and Client organizations and proven track record of developing relationships.
  • A reliable team player with a strong proactive nature.
  • Ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel internationally if required.
  • Previous experience as an HSE Adviser within an offshore operational environment is preferred.
  • Experience supporting international work.
  • Inspection and audit experience of accredited (ISO14001 and 45001) Safety & Environmental Management System (SEMS) is preferred.
