Please note in regards to location this role can be based anywhere within the UK Mainland. This role will be peripatetic Home based and travel will be required across England, Scotland and Wales
Working hours: Minimum of 35 hours per week

We are looking for a Property Health and Safety Manager to work within the Property Department of The Salvation Army acting as the internal expert and strategic lead on Health & Safety matters.
To set departmental strategy for Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with current property related legislation. The post holder will advise, inform and train staff and internal stakeholders in property related matters insuring the promotion of a positive health & safety culture.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Be the Property Health & Safety expert for The Salvation Army providing advice to colleagues and senior leaders
- Ensure all accidents, incidents or near misses are reported using prescribed systems, including the correct reporting of RIDDOR events. Undertake subsequent investigations to discover root causes, lessons learned and design appropriate response to findings and ensure their implementation
- Have an accountability to the Head of Safe Mission in relation to providing regular, formal assurance of Health & Safety compliance within a Property setting
To be successful in this role you will have:
- An industry recognised qualification such as the NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) or BSc/BA in safety management Chartered Membership (or working towards) of IOSH (CMIOSH) or Graduate membership may be accepted (Grad IOSH)
- Expert level knowledge and experience in strategic health and safety design, monitoring and risk mitigation, including operational and construction experience
- Significant experience of working with the CDM Regulations and Building Safety Act at a strategic and an operational level
- Through excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to advise, influence, work with, train, and promote excellence in Health and Safety
- Experience of maintaining or reaching externally audited management standards such as OHSAS 18001
