Due to company expansion we have a requirement for a Senior SHEQ Advisor to support the existing SHEQ team and locations.
Post holder will be based in Hartlepool with frequent travel.
2 days required at our Bridlington location with additional travel to other company and customer locations through the North east and further as the business requires. (Car allowance & fuel card provided)
We are looking to recruit an experienced ‘hands-on’ Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Advisor with a ‘can do’ attitude. This is a fast-paced role, in a growing business, requiring someone with a proactive mindset, flexible approach and an attention to detail. The successful candidate must be highly organised, reliable, and possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
This Role is NOT remote.
- Managing and maintaining the various reporting systems.
- Compiling statistics for reports and presentations.
- Completion of customer accreditation documentation.
- Developing and writing internal health and safety procedures/docs including safe operating procedures, toolbox talks, safety alerts and one-point lessons.
- Be an active member of the monthly safety committee and be prepared to chair the meeting when necessary.
- Investigating / recording accidents of Injury, Near Miss, Environmental & Cases of Ill Health.
- Carrying out site safety inductions and monitoring safety critical training requirements, advising and training staff on best work practices.
- Monitoring environmental impacts, objectives & targets.
- Conduct audits (ISO, internal site, customer site, operator)
- Supporting sites with the implementation of the appropriate safe systems or work.
- Monitoring EdApp / MYC systems for compliance.
- Liaising with relevant authorities where required.
- Suggesting improvements to current working processes driving continual improvements.
- Lead external audits for the relevant locations.
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience in a SHEQ related role.
- COMAH Experience.
- NEBOSH / equivalent qualification.
- Well organised and able to manage own workload.
- Excellent PC skills.
- Experience of SHEQ reporting systems.
- RCA / incident investigation.
Desirable
- Auditing of ISO45001, ISO14001 & ISO9001.
- IOSH Member.
- Chemical / waste / petrochemical background would be advantageous.
- Environmental qualification.
