An opportunity for an experienced Health and Saftey Manager to join one of the top 100 fastest growing independent companies in the UK and to keep up with this growth.

The role:
Reporting in to the Head of QHSE, your role will be to assist in the development of a positive safety culture whilst reducing risk, across the business via a proactive approach to all aspects of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety.

The Ideal Candidate:
You’ll have managed Health and Safety at a senior level and have good experience in food hygiene.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development and review of the company policies, procedures and HACCP and their implementation into the business
  • Providing on-going legislative and company policy-based support and guidance for new and existing business.
  • Attending all relevant Safety Meetings at a national and regional level.
  • Assisting in the development and ongoing review of the health and safety management system
  • Assisting in the compilation and review of accident statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Developing and implementing accident and incident reduction strategies and training based on analysis of accident statistics.
  • Carrying out any accident/incident investigation, delivering results and recommendations to the relevant stakeholders
  • Working closely with the L&D Department to identify training requirements within the business and develop training tools to meet them.
  • Ensuring through effective management, the correct levels of support and training is provided for employees to ensure that all procedures are implemented at a Unit level.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with outside agencies
  • Literate – able to write policies, procedures and reports.
  • IT literate
  • An organised approach to tasks and priorities with strict deadlines
  • Flexible and adaptable to take on a variety of tasks
  • Punctuality and consistent in attendance
  • Project a positive and professional approach at all times
  • Be able to follow direction as well as working from their own initiative
Essentials:

  • Health and Safety Level 2
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene
  • Educated to Degree standard
  • NEBOSH Qualification
  • Advanced Food Hygiene
  • Training Qualification
