Would you like to play a pivotal role in SHE Objectives in the operations team of our Munitions site? BAE Systems currently have a vacancy for a SHE Advisor at our site in Glascoed.

As a SHE Advisor, you will advise, support and encourage operations personnel to ensure compliance with relevant company and statutory SHE related requirements. Work with the operations team to deliver SHE objectives in line with company requirements. Promote a positive health and safety culture amongst the workforce by encouraging active participation in SHE initiatives and be the subject matter expert in all SHE related activities.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills in a niche sector working in a top tier COMAH Site. You will have the ability to develop your skills as a SHE Advisor and have the ability to support and train others. You will manage a SHE Coordinator and deputise for the SHE Manager when required. You will have a varied role being able to react and support to specified areas around SHE.
Key responsibilities: 
  • Supporting with internal and external audits/investigations
  • Hosting monthly SHE meetings with operatives and process leaders
  • Supporting and advising cell with SHE issues as required and with continuous improvement
  • Deputising for the site SHE Manager when required
Skills and qualifications:
Essential
  • NEBOSH Certificate or Equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety & working towards a Diploma
  • Proven experience within a SHE/Operational function in a similar regulated field
  • Experience of conducting accident and incident investigations
  • Experience of managing teams
  • Ability to Travel to other Munitions Sites (Washington – County Durham & Radway Green – Cheshire)
  • Accredited member of IOSH

Desirable

  • Internal Auditor Qualification
  • Proven Experience in a Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Sector

You will have good written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence others; you will be required to liaise with multi-discipline functions so stakeholder management skills will benefit your ability to work. You will have the ability to work with others, coach and mentor teams and individuals and adapt to change when needed. The ability to manage your workload, prioritise and work under pressure will support you greatly in a busy working environment.

Salary: Circa £43,000 per annum
