Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Authority are looking for a Road Safety Co-ordinator based in Dorset. The centre of duty will be agreed on appointment of the role; however, applicants must be prepared to travel throughout the whole of the service.

We are looking for a Road Safety Co-ordinator based in Dorset. The centre of duty will be agreed on appointment of the role; however applicants must be prepared to travel throughout the whole of the service.

Required skills/experience:

  • experience of using Microsoft Computer Packages
  • experience of developing, organising and delivering training or education
  • experience of planning complex events and maintaining records

You must:

  • have 4 GCSE passes – Grade A*-C / 9-4, including English and Mathematics / equivalent Level 2 qualification / or higher-level relevant qualification
  • be educated to level 3 NVQ or equivalent
  • hold or be willing to work towards a recognised Road Safety Practitioners qualification

You are:

  • highly organised with effective time management skills
  • able to work in a changing environment & respond to unplanned work demands
  • able to demonstrate a co-operative & supportive style & to work collaboratively as a team member

Other Information:

  • You must have a full current driving licence
  • Use of your own vehicle will be required, however a Service vehicle may be available.
  • You will be required to travel across both counties.
  • The role involves some evening and weekend working.
  • A Disclosure & Barring Service Check Enhanced DBS clearance will be undertaken on the successful individual prior to offer of employment. Upon satisfactory clearance you will be required to register with the DBS Update Service and maintain this registration annually.
  • Any offer of employment will be subject to full pre-employment checks which include identity checks, right to work in the UK, medical and receipt of satisfactory references

 

The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 12th July 2020. It is intended that interviews will take place on Tuesday 28th July 2020. Interviews will take place on-line via a Teams link.
