At Alliance Homes, we exist to create great places to live that our customers are proud to call home. With over 6500 homes across North Somerset, we are looking for a property compliance specialist to manage our landlord compliance and safety servicing requirements.
In this role you will have overall responsibility for our Gas, Electrical, Water, Fire Safety, Lifts and Asbestos safety for our properties. You will help shape these services, so we remain compliant with the relevant statutory and regulatory obligations ensuring our homes are safe and of a high quality for our customers.
Whilst managing both budgetary and operational performance requirements for these services, you will also have opportunity to look at innovations in technology and in how we work to further champion Alliance as a leader in this field.
This is a key management role and presents an excellent opportunity for the right person to enhance their existing technical and leadership skills, supported by an experienced senior leadership team.
About you
We are looking for an experienced compliance professional with excellent knowledge of housing compliance related legislation, regulatory requirements, sector challenges and best practices.
You will need demonstratable knowledge in:
gas and electrical safety legislation (preferably within social housing)
water safety legislation (including domestic and non-domestic legionella controls)
lifts and lifting equipment safety
non-gas heating systems (including electric, solid fuel, air and ground source heat pumps and solar thermal)
managing asbestos inspection and removal programmes
fire safety inspections
risk management
Working with specialist contractors, you will need to hold a sound understanding of procurement legislation and experience in contract management, including working with asset compliance contracts.
Holding great communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships will be essential.
You will also need experience in leading, managing and motivating teams with customer focused / performance driven results.
Qualifications: Desirable:
Degree within housing, building or management/5 years in leadership role.
A relevant technical/ building qualification to Level 4 or the willingness to work towards an equivalent Housing qualification.
