Salary – £31,000 – £33,000 per annum depending on experience, plus company car

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join us as a Health and Safety Advisor. You must be an excellent communicator and enjoy working independently within a supportive team.

You will be working within a small dynamic team of eight and you’ll engage with our management teams within five of our supply chain Customer Service Centres in Southwest England and South Wales to promote a positive Health and Safety culture.

You will work from home with regular visits to your sites, and occasional overnight stays, and you’ll have the freedom to plan and organise your own work schedule with some flexibility on hours depending on business needs.

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the roll out and communication of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, guidance and ensuring your sites are compliant
  • Attending site monthly Health and Safety meetings to discuss and deal with any site-specific matters arising and updating the teams with regards to Health and Safety improvement plans and initiatives
  • Ensuring that sites investigate accidents and incidents in a timely manner, capturing all the required information to ensure root cause analysis can be carried out and any recommendations and/or remedial actions can be initiated
  • Being a source of Health and Safety advice, providing support and assistance on all Health and Safety to teams and managers within your sites
  • Participating in the delivery of a robust audit and inspection programme throughout the year

You will need:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • Good understanding of UK Health and Safety legislation
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbally and written)
  • Flexible and willing to travel to your sites in Southwest England and South Wales and further afield as needed, with occasional overnight stays as required
  • A full valid driving licence

It would be great if you had:

  • Some experience of risk assessments, environmental impact assessments, accident investigation and contractor management
  • Experience of supply chain and or logistics
