Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional with a background in construction?
As one of our Health & Safety Advisors you’ll be using your experience within the construction field to advise on health, safety, and welfare matters. This will see you carry out site inspections on a wide range of building types, including occupied properties.
This is a varied role and you’ll be seen as a subject matter expert for our colleagues in property services and development.
Areas of responsibility within the role will include –
- Acting as an advisor for both outsourced construction and in-house planned and response repair projects supporting with risk assessments, pre-construction information and construction phase plans
- Working with the business to ensure continual improvement with health and safety standards, committing to a positive safety culture
- Carrying out duties as required of a ‘Competent Person’ under the requirements of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (Reg. 7)
- Assisting the Head of Health & Safety with the development, implementation and management of the H&S strategy, policy, objectives, and processes
- Monitoring compliance, and working with operational leaders within the business to ensure they understand their role and responsibilities
About you
You will have NEBOSH National General and or Construction Certificate (or equivalent). You will have experience of CDM Regulations 2015 including CDM Principal Contractor/Designer roles and hold Membership of IOSH. Health and safety will not only be your chosen career it will be a real passion for you, and you’ll understand the importance of a strong health and safety culture within a medium – large business.
You will consider yourself to have significant experience in construction activities, seeing this as an area of work that is your specialism. You will keep yourself abreast of new legislation and ensuring e that your knowledge remains up to date.
It is a varied role and well-suited to you if you are a positive, resilient, lateral thinker that can work on your own initiative and manage your time effectively. You will work both independently and as part of a team, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be able to provide competent advice.
This role will see you travel across our operating regions, so you’ll require a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Our operating regions include, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, London and areas bordering on these counties.
