Candidates would have ideally worked within a smaller scale construction company, with proven experience in assisting with PQQ’s for bids and management systems along with audits for third parties such as SQS, UKAS etc.

Job Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in line with UK legislation and industry standards.
• To provide assistance with the upkeep the management systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and UKAS 17020.
• Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Provide expert advice and support to project teams, management, and staff on health and safety matters.
• Coordinate and deliver health and safety training sessions to promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation.
• Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and best practices within the industry.
• Liaise with external regulatory bodies and ensure compliance during audits and inspections.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety standards and organisational culture.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Proven experience in health and safety management within the construction or infrastructure sector.
• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification; NEBOSH Diploma is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
• Ability to develop and deliver engaging health and safety training programmes.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Technical proficiency with health and safety management systems and relevant software tools.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry standards.
