About the Role
To promote and embed a pro-active safety culture and environment that delivers robust standards of performance and compliance.

To ensure effective support, challenge, and assurance of H&S across Resort with particular focus across key risk areas (such as food, pools, fire etc).

To ensure that we are proactively using our data to provide insight and drive change to minimise our exposure to accidents and subsequent claims.

Provide assurance to the business and Resort management team in the effectiveness of controls and legislative compliance.
Ultimately supporting the business to deliver strong safety performance through equipped people committed to doing the right thing, supported by effective processes to enable them to get it right.

Some of your key responsibilities
To drive the focus on safety culture and supports initiatives which reinforce the Business’s H&S vision, strategy, and culture.
Delivers engagement, communications, consultation, and training with particular focus to enable HOD’s to deliver their H&S responsibilities.

Support and develop Site Fire Officer to ensure they have the appropriate knowledge and capability to fulfil the role.
Supports implementation of the H&S strategy across the resort and monitors departments to ensure they progress with continuous improvements.

Deploy H&S related initiatives and programmes across the resort that will deliver leading edge H&S standards, performance, and culture.

Actively focuses on the safety standards and operational procedures required to ensure robust risk control of all key risk areas for the business.

Ensures the Resort teams effectively evaluate and assess H&S risks for all activities and operations and develop controls to manage and reduce these risks.

Ensure that Fire strategies and Fire Risk Assessment are maintained up to date and actions completed in the required time frames.

To support and monitor the implementation of H&S policies, systems, procedures, and standards at the Resort to ensure effective safety management. Support identification and development of such standards/tools.

To drive good reporting, investigation, recording and analysis of injury accidents, dangerous occurrences, near miss incidents and work-related ill health, such that root causes and wider learnings are addressed broadly across the Resort and if appropriate the wider business.

Assist the Central Operations team in driving quality “first time” documentation standards at times of accident / incident that simplifies the potential claims process.

Active involvement with Resort facility teams to ensure continuous improvement of whole life management of safety important assets.

Ensures stakeholders effectively utilise chosen H&S IT systems and applications.

Management and delivery of Resort H&S committee meetings/employee forums to ensure H&S performance is robustly governed, continuous improvement is driven forward, and where stakeholder accountabilities/responsibilities are reinforced by the leadership if required.

Deliver a blended self-assessment audit programme across sites to ensure standards in H&S are upheld across allocated locations.

About You

We’re looking for high spirited and fun-loving multi-taskers with excellent communication skills. You must have experience at supporting management and operational teams to deliver on their H&S responsibilities. We require you to have proven written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate H&S processes to a range of people so as to influence others. Have a good problem-solving attitude, to be a committed team player and being able to work on your own initiative as necessary. Experience with H&S management systems and auditing

Education & Experience:

NEBOSH National diploma (An advantage) or
General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent (Required).
Experience in health & safety or operational management role including working with local authorities.
Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, experience formulating and reviewing Health & Safety plans, experience of managing risk in a guest facing operation, experience conducting audits/inspections.
Experience of Fire regulation.

Occasional travel will be required and as such a valid driving licence is preferable.
