Allianz is looking for a health and safety expert to join their growing HR team in a Health, Safety and Wellbeing consultant role. The location of this role is flexible, with frequent travel to Guildford as well as other locations across the UK to provide Health, Safety and Wellbeing expertise across the whole Allianz UK business.
Reporting to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of the Health and Safety strategy across the whole of Allianz UK (circa 9000 FTE across 24 offices). You’ll be the subject matter expert, providing support to employees, with advice and guidance on all aspects of health, safety and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and maintaining compliance with H&S, fire and food safety legislation
- Monitoring accident/incidents, undertaking investigation and where appropriate and advising on measures to prevent reoccurrence
- Monitoring H&S compliance through inspections and audits across Allianz activities including corporate offices
- Assisting with the review of corporate safety, health and wellbeing procedures and H&S templates
- Supporting the Allianz Health, Safety & Wellbeing Committee and other consultative forums
- Assisting in the design, management and delivery of health, safety and wellbeing related training
- Monitoring first aid and wellbeing arrangements and provision across the corporate offices and staff teams
- Delivering H&S induction programmes
- Ensure adherence to the Group’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy particularly in relation to the roles and responsibilities outlined
Skills & Experience:
- Experience of working in an Health and Safety role, partnering with business stakeholder and employees to provide Health and Safety expertise
- Up to date knowledge of H&S legislation and fire safety regulations
- Understanding of compliance with the Health and Safety at Work etc., Act 1974
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written with the ability to build good relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels
- Auditing, inspection and active monitoring skills
- Ability to take a proportionate and balanced approach to risk management
- Competent user of in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Qualifications:
- TechIOSH /GradIOSH and actively working towards (We will offer support towards achieving relevant professional qualifications)
- NEBOSH/IOSH/BSC diploma or NVQ level 5 in H&S or equivalent (essential)
- NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate or equivalent (desirable)
- Educated to GSCE or equivalent level
- Car driver preferred
