Due to the continued expansion of our state of the art Fibre Network across London, we’re on the lookout for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team.
Working closely with the Head of HSQE, you’ll ensure that Health and Safety standards are upheld at all sites; we have an excellent track record across health and safety and this role is critical to its continued success.
The Responsibilities:
• To support a Health and Safety focused culture across the company and promote good safety behaviours
• To be an expert in Health and Safety legislation and best practice to assist with compliance and continuous improvement
• Work closely with all staff members whilst continuously advising them on HSE issues
• Visiting sites and engaging with managers, ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical Health and Safety related enquires
• Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations. Constantly seeking areas for improvement and development in health and safety performance.
• Ensure risk assessments undertaken by the business are reviewed and effective, and maintain the risk assessment database.
• Assist and participate in the delivery of safety, health and environment induction and toolbox talks
• Assist monthly health and safety meetings
• Assist bi-monthly Supply Chain meeting
• Provide support to business units on HSE initiatives
• Produce HSE statistics on a monthly basis, identify trends and take proactive initiatives
• Produce and communicate safety alerts following incidents to promote learning and prevention
• Be part of the project moving towards ISO accreditation
Skills & Experience you’ll need:
• Proven experience in a similar role ideally within construction, civil engineering or related industry
• A NEBOSH Construction or NCRQ Certificate (or equivalent)
• A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations
• Approachable
• Ability to influence associates at all levels.
• Ability to remain flexible to meet the wider demands of an expanding business.
