The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at Kings College London has a vacancy for the role of Faculty Health & Safety Manager. This is a key post in the Faculty’s professional services team, and the successful candidate will provide a high standard of management, support and expert advice in order for the Faculty to comply with Health & Safety (H&S) legislation and the Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) policies of the University.

Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the post holder will lead on H&S management for the Faculty, liaising with colleagues at all levels in the Professional Services teams and academic departments. They will work closely with the University’s Professional Services teams; in particular King’s Health & Safety Services and Estates & Facilities.

The post holder will be responsible for the timely and effective delivery of their duties. They will manage their own workload and engage with internal and external stakeholders as required. They will oversee HSW communication and engagement, working closely with colleagues to disseminate information to staff and students in the faculty.

The post holder will monitor H&S compliance across the Faculty, reporting breaches to the Faculty’s Health & Safety Committee, senior management and King’s Health & Safety Services as appropriate. They will maintain close links with H&S professionals within other King’s faculties and directorates, and be an active member of the King’s Health Faculties Safety Group.

This position is exciting opportunity to work across a range of disciplines. The IoPPN offers an intellectually stimulating environment in which to work, where staff are dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and learning, in the service of society. Across our 3 divisions with their 14 departments, we provide high-quality teaching, research and innovation across psychiatry, psychology and neuroscience. Our teaching and research activities are located in a wide range of environments, including containment level 2 laboratories, MRI scanning facilities and clinical areas in our NHS partner hospitals. The post holder will be based at our Denmark Hill campus in Camberwell but will be required travel to other King’s campuses on a regular basis.

This is a full-time post – 100% full time equivalent.

The post holder will act as an Authorised Witness for the Faculty’s Controlled Drugs Licences. This requires an Enhanced DBS check
