Are you a highly motivated individual, with an interest in health and safety? Do you have health and safety experience and are looking for a new challenge? Do you want to be part of an ambitious team in a challenging and ever changing environment? Do you have the ability to support the operational delivery of a responsive health and safety strategy for the University?

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and non-bureaucratic individual to support the delivery of the health and safety management system as a member of a diverse team of Health and Safety Professionals. This post will initially be based within the Faculties of Arts, Humanities and Culture, Leeds University Business School and Faculty of Social Science.

You will report to one of the Services Health and Safety Managers supporting the proactive operational management of health and safety, including compliance with legislation and the University Health and Safety Policy within the three faculties. You will initially be allocated a portfolio within these faculties, but it is expected that you will be allocated to work in other areas of the University to broaden your professional experience.

A flexible and supportive approach will be required, combined with experience of interpreting and applying health and safety legislation in a complex environment.

The role has been evaluated at grade 7. To offer opportunities for development, this role is also offered as a grade 6/7 developmental role. Candidates who meet the person specification at grade 6 will be appointed at the lower grade with a personal development plan (PDP). On successful completion of the PDP they will have the opportunity to apply for promotion to grade 7.
