About the Role
Base Location: Perthshire, Highlands, Aberdeen, Argyll and Bute or Glasgow
Salary: £38,000 – £58,000+ car /cash allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

As an Operational Safety Advisor (Electrical) your key responsibilities will be:
– Provide proactive and pragmatic operational safety advice and guidance to internal customers throughout the SSE Electricity Transmission business (SSEN Transmission)
– Ensuring the delivery of safe outcomes for our people, our customers and the environment is at the heart of everything that you do.
– Support managers address business risks by utilising your technical knowledge to promote a practical understanding across all operational safety processes
– Responsible for the continual improvement of the approved procedures and guidance associated with the SSEN Operational Safety Rules. These rules ensure safety from the system when accessing, operating and maintaining the SSE Electricity Transmission Network.
– Providing information, instruction and training of operational safety procedures, investigating incidents, as well as sharing lessons learnt from incident investigations are all very important functions of the role.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
– Previous knowledge and experience of electricity operational activities on transmission / distribution networks and will be familiar with roles and responsibilities of authorised persons, safe systems of work and training requirements
– You’ll have a good understanding of systems, polices and strategies for safety management within an asset-intensive electrical engineering environment.
– Ability to drive cross-business collaboration and build a high-performing, commercially and customer-focused culture, through the effective delivery of safe, reliable and affordable outcomes, you’ll need strong stakeholder management skills.
– An excellent communicator, you’ll demonstrate a clear ability for building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external parties.
– Alongside your ability to identify and analyse complex technical issues and understand risks, your well-structured, systematic approach will be essential in helping you to implement appropriate solutions. You’ll be able to influence change at all levels of the organisation.
– A full UK driving licence is essential.
