As part of the Quality and Compliance team the post holder will undertake the role of Health & Safety Officer and Compliance Assistant at our Hallam Street Clinic. The post holder will deliver services across Building Health and Safety, Building Maintenance and report into the Care, Quality and Compliance Manager.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The postholder will be the Lead for Health and Safety requirements and undertake the management of all building maintenance to ensure compliance to legislation and policies.

Health & Safety
• Create, develop, and review the Health & Safety requirements application to the clinical site at Hallam Street to ensure legislation compliance and meeting all Health & Safety requirements.
• Raise any potential Health & Safety issues to the Facilities and Operations Manager immediately to ensure the swift resolution of business-critical issues.
• Accountable for delivering Health and Safety practices as outlined by the business, including testing and recording of all alarm systems in the building.
• Will have a valid NEBOSH qualification and First Aid at Work qualification to ensure the relevant level of training and knowledge to support the service.
• Supporting with Health, Safety, Quality and Compliance audits as well as support in Quality walkarounds.
• Creating a cohesive interface into the Clinical Coordinator within the Facilities and Operations team.
• Leading on Governance actions, utilising our RADAR system for tracking, monitoring and analysis.
• Ensuring all Orri Policy documentations are updated in accordance with legislative changes and implemented across Orri in a timely manner.

Building Maintenance
• Creation and management of an active maintenance log for all issues raised during walkarounds and by staff or clients.
• Proactively liaise with external contractors to resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner, providing a regular update and raising any concerns with contractors as required to the Facilities and Operations Manager.
• Management of Building Health and Safety requirements including legionella and water temperature checks
• Management and documentation of all Fire Safety including conducting fire drills, fire checks, maintenance of fire equipment, fire evacuation plans and audits.
• Maintenance of general daily checks on heating, leaks, lighting, ventilation operations, extraction, and building fabrics in collaboration with the Facilities and Operations Manager
• Responsible for ensuring all printer maintenance and faults are organised, replacement parts order in advance, PAT Testing is arranged ahead of time.

In addition, any ad hoc requirements required within the postholders skill set to support Orri UK may be required.

JOB PACKAGE

Job title: Health |& Safety Officer and Compliance Assistant

Salary:£24,000 – £27,000 (pro rata, depending on experience)

Hours: 30 hours per week – 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday

Base: Hallam Street, London, W1W.

Contract type: Permanent

Annual leave: The basic annual leave entitlement in a full year is 33 days inclusive of bank holidays. Leave entitlement is pro rata where applicable. The service is closed for the Christmas and New Year period.

Orri provides specialised full and part time Intensive Day Treatment that is based on the principals of equality, dignity and respect and which takes into account spiritual and cultural diversity of the client group.

The Orri team works in a multidisciplinary approach to provide specialist services which enable clients to achieve health, well-being and a level of independence through participation in graded treatment programmes, thus limiting the impact of physical and mental health problems on ability to function independently.

At Orri, care is delivered through the multi-disciplinary team in collaboration with partner services. It is based on the best available evidence for practice and is planned and delivered in a manner which promotes personal choice. The clinical team works collaboratively with clients, carers and their representatives to ensure that care needs are identified and met, and by offering a comprehensive service, offers a credible alternative to hospitalisation wherever possible. Psychologists work individually or as co-therapists in individual treatments, and in therapy groups.

Orri focuses on the assessment, treatment and ongoing monitoring of individuals with an eating disorder. As a member of the multidisciplinary team the post-holder has a contribution to the generic functions of the multidisciplinary teams such as initial assessment, and group interventions. The role of the Psychologist is to provide assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, referral, care management, individual follow-up, and group therapy based on clinical evaluations of targeted populations; and to acts as a consultant and liaison to physicians and clinical staff as well as outside agencies.

All clients will be cared for by a named individual who is tasked with working closely with their identified clients/carers to develop a participative, therapeutic relationship and deliver high quality mental health care in an environment where clients feel valued and where confidentiality is respected.

Through short to medium term case management approach, the service will provide intensive support and interventions to clients and carers prior to and following discharge, with an expectation of preventing relapse
