BA Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power onshore and offshore as well as other non-hydro renewable activities like solar and batteries. We manage the maintenance, operation and continuous improvement of wind generation assets, safely and with the highest levels of availability and profitability. We also perform the structuring and execution of project partnerships in accordance with overall wind strategy.

As H&S Specialist you provide independent, authoritative advice, support & assistance to the line organization covering the function of Health and Safety. Within this role you will be responsible for managing H&S aspects within our windfarms in Ormonde and in Aberdeen, ensuring Vattenfall meets its statutory obligations, industry or company requirements and Health & Safety ambitions to achieve world class safety. The Ormonde Offshore Wind Farm is located in the Irish Sea, around 10km from the coast at Barrow-in-Furness in the North-West of the UK. Ormonde saw the first deployment of 5MW turbines in UK waters. The European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre, otherwise known as Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm has deployed innovative next generation technology, installing 11 x 8.8MW turbines.

This position is part of Business Unit Offshore within Business Area Wind, which is responsible for Vattenfall’s On- and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro Renewable activities like Solar, Hydrogen and Batteries. Today we develop, construct and operate wind generation, solar and battery installations in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.
As Health and Safety Specialist within Offshore Wind you have the following key responsibilities:

To further implement the Vattenfall Health & Safety management system within the offshore O&M sites;
Provide Health and Safety guidance, coaching and support towards the O&M site organisation;
Drive and report upon the Health and Safety Performance, including incident management, and maturity within the O&M site organisation;
Support in the H&S component of contractor management processes (procurement, contractor performance evaluation, audits,…) related to the O&M site;
Drive H&S risk management within the O&M organization, support the development of Risk Assessments / Method Statements (RAMS) and monitor it’s compliance to Health and Safety within the offshore sites;
Carry out Safety Inspections and Safety Meetings within the offshore O&M sites;
Report and investigate incidents, ensure close out of actions and implement learnings;
Support the behavior based safety program and coach site personnel in safety awareness Implement Lessons Learned, Safety alerts and other H&S code of practices within your area of control.
This job shall predominately support the Ormonde (Barrow-in-Furness) and Aberdeen UK sites. At times travel to other Vattenfall Offshore Wind Farms and office locations throughout Europe may be required.

Your profile as O&M Health and Safety Specialist within Offshore Wind
We are looking for a pro-active H&S Specialist, who is able to focus on both people and business and has demonstrable experience in coaching teams in challenging environments. Experience with Offshore Wind O&M operations would be beneficial, where affinity with the offshore wind sector is preferred.
In this you have the following qualifications:
You have a degree within Health and Safety with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in an international organisation, preferably with a number of Offshore Wind Farm Projects;
Familiar with safety management system in compliance with ISO45001 and auditing;
Full and detailed understanding of applicable H&S related legislation (UK);
Experience managing contractors as client and/or principal contractor;
Experience in auditing and incident investigation;
A professional level of English, both verbally and written.
You recognize the skills of being open, positive, solution oriented, objective and collaborative as your key strengths.

Location
Office location is either Ormonde (Barrow-in-Furness) or Aberdeen, but you will be spending time on both locations. You will need to be flexible and travelling will be necessary on a regular basis.
