Sedgwick Repair Services specialises in the management of a contractor network undertaking both restoration and repair work for our valued clients. Our people are as diverse as our products and services and as varied as our clients. We have over 80 contractors on our network and with their dedication, we`re been providing outstanding customer service support for over a decade in supporting claimants in a crisis.
The role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with either a background in a similar role, in the construction industry, or someone with a background and qualifications in construction now looking for a slight change in direction and being prepared to study and learn more about Health and Safety.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager the primary role of the Health and Safety Officer is to ensure Repair Solutions and its contractors manage and complete repairs safely and in accordance with all relevant legislation. Your key contacts will include Repair Solutions and Sedgwick colleagues as well as external suppliers.

Main duties will include:
To work with the H&S Manager to ensure H&S compliance within Repair Solutions and helping to ensure Repair Solutions field staff operate safely and are aware of all relevant H&S issues
Maintain the ISO 45001 system
Undertake accident and incident investigations
Advise on relevant new H&S legislation and regulations and develop processes for implementation
Undertake H&S inspections on contractors’ sites
Provide guidance and information to all aspects of H&S
Maintain all H&S records
Any other ad hoc health and safety duties as required.
About you:
Essential – A background in a similar role,in the construction industry, or someone with a background and qualifications in construction now looking for a slight change in direction and being prepared to study and learn more about Health and Safety.
Superb communicator with first class customer service
Understand the application of Health and Safety legislation.
Effectively influence those at a senior level.
Professional in their approach to dealing with issues and employees.
Appreciation of confidentiality and discretion.
Strong organisational or administrative skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach.
Focused on delivering outstanding customer service to the Sedgwick’s internal customers and contractors.
IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programmes to include Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a range of people, both remotely and face-to-face.
Strong teamwork skills are essential
Willingness to learn and adapt current skills. The role suits someone either from an insurance repair background and willing to develop their H&S skills and knowledge or someone from a H&S background keen to understand the insurance repair industry.
