Role: Principal Consultant – Fire
Location: Location Flexible – Field based
We are looking for a Principal Fire Safety Consultant to join our HSI team. The role will be responsible for working with clients and key internal stakeholders to scope, price, propose, deliver and project manage consultancy services with new and existing clients. You will also be required to undertake specialist technical work at client’s sites, providing high quality written technical reports within the specific service line of the Health and Safety Division.
Responsibilities will include
To undertake site inspections, assessments, audits, and consultancy services, demonstrating a sound understanding of legislation and best practice.
To follow the processes and procedures for proposal and delivery of work at all times, and to ensure that they are followed on projects managed.
Manage projects ensuring delivery on time, on scope, on budget, meet legislative or 3rd party requirements
To work with the Technical Manager to ensure that client specific deliverables are captured within the Service Delivery Specification, and to assist the Technical Manager in training the Specification to colleagues delivering the program of work.
To assist the Operations/Business Manager in provision of tender responses and commercial proposals to client requests for work and input into large bids through the Bid Team.
To assist the Operations/Business Manager driving innovation in both service and process.
To develop strong working relationships with HSI Performance Lead
To act as team leader for specific service line, acting as key interface between team and Business Manager, and providing additional layer of peer support (without line management responsibility)
To scope future work for self and others, preparing fee proposals, and answering general customer enquiries.
Contribute to large proposals/marketing documentation for the development of work.
Providing client contact point for agreed projects and undertaking appropriate assessments.
Be exemplar in client management and relationship building, using both to develop additional work.
Delivery against Key personal and divisional KPIs.

Candidate Requirements
Proven experience within the industry
Strong subject matter background with third party accreditation where relevant
Experience of consulting across various sectors
A strong background knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
Experienced in the organisation and planning of personal work load
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
A flexible approach to working with a willingness to travel
