The ideal candidate should possess high levels of computer literacy, in particular use of spreadsheets, databases, word-processing, email, and web editing. In addition, you should practical and organised, have the ability to work effectively with a range of staff showing tact and resilience with excellent communication skills. Being educated to degree level, or relevant experience as well as project management experience are also essential to the role.

Job Description
Job Purpose
To take a leading role in proactively developing and supporting compliance processes across various activities within WMG, including health and safety and asset management. To ensure WMG meets the highest standards and complies with the relevant University and regulatory policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support WMG’s health and safety and statutory compliance activities and technical management team through planning, developing and implementing a range of compliance projects across various disciplines, e.g. hazard management systems, chemical inventories, and asset management databases, including all elements of asset management, and documentation in WMG buildings.
2. Develop and implement monitoring/audit programmes to manage compliance ensuring key objectives are met ensuring appropriate corrective and preventative actions are in place.
3. To keep abreast of new legislation, regulation, standards and best practice relevant to WMG, ensuring these are brought to the attention of the relevant stakeholders and to contribute to the drafting of reports, new procedures and guidelines arising from these.
4. To undertake and manage project work assigned by WMG senior management team on matters relating to health and safety, and asset management.
5. Ensure the asset management system data is used to support business decision for various stakeholder groups across WMG.
6. Oversee the development and maintenance of appropriate communications tools to support the team, including web site and social media tools. Including but not limited to website editing: to maintain and update webpages, ensuring that the material is current and accurate.
7. To represent WMG within the University on several statutory compliance committees and to outside organisations on relevant strategic and operational issues.
