Transport Compliance Officer (Pembrokeshire County Council)

To assist the Fleet Manager in ensure that all transport and vehicle use legislation is adhered to and complies with the relevant transport regulation and health and safety regulations. Monitor, administrate and carry out compliance audits on the conditions of the Operator’s License and carry out vehicle / plant examinations ensuring that vehicles / plant are maintained and operated to the required standard. Assist with the efficient running of the transport office.

The post holder will have exceptional knowledge of Fleet Management and Operators License Requirements, have good knowledge of drivers’ hour’s rules and understanding of fleet management systems. You must hold a Certificate of Professional Competence in either Freight or PCV or be prepared to train in order to attain qualification. An understanding of Health and Safety Regulations is essential and experience of using Microsoft packages with an eye for accuracy and detail.

A full, clean driving license is essential for this post.

The role is predominately to work in an office environment with a requirement to work externally to carry out drivers / vehicle spot checks and is based at Thornton Depot, Milford Haven but you may be required to work at other depots or anywhere else in the County.
