This is a new role for an Operational Safety Advisor (HSEQ Advisor) to support across the central region.
Our Secure Infrastructure business has won the contract to maintain Service Family Accommodation (SFA) for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) across its Central region. This is a maintenance contract under which we will deliver improvement projects and refurbishment work to military properties for the next seven years.
As our Operational Safety Advisor, you will work closely with managers across the contract and wider Secure Infrastructure business, and sub-contractors on site, to advise on all matters relating to health and safety. As these will primarily be ‘void’ (empty) properties, part of your role will also be to guide the teams in relation to Asbestos and Legionella, for which we will arrange training courses if needed.
This role is based from home but requires significant travel and regular site visits. Hubs for the central region are situated in: Rutland, Colchester, Kings Lynn, Cambridge, Lancashire, York and Glamorgan.
Mobilisation for this contract is 1st April so an immediate start would be an advantage.
What will this role involve?
Developing CDM processes and procedures across the business and liaising with all stakeholder departments
Communicating effectively with the Project Managers and Site Mangers to drive the CDM process to ensure compliance.
Empowering the team to implement HSEQ policy and procedures, through providing technical advice and support.

Auditing and inspecting the account to identify strengths and weaknesses. Providing robust reports and supporting the development of actions plans.
Analysing management information as to the account’s health and safety record to enable the account to improve performance, and identify and share good practice.
Assisting the managers in the investigations of incidents and participate in investigations, identifying their root causes and actions to prevent recurrence.
Supporting continuous improvement and ensure quality standards are maintained.
Providing practical advice and guidance on environmental risk & controls.
Conducting site audits, ensuring working practices are safe and comply with legislation
