Are you passionate about housing?

We are currently recruiting for a Community Safety Officer to join our housing team and provide advice and support to the wider team regarding anti-social behaviour issues and to take the lead on legal proceedings and tenancy enforcement measures.

We want someone who has tried and tested experience in tenancy enforcement and litigation as well as managing anti-social behaviour. Detail is key to this role as you will be preparing legal documents for court and checking processes and procedures have been followed and all options exercised prior to enforcement. You will need to be an excellent communicator who can build long standing relationships with local authorities, Police Services and other partner agencies to help prevent situations escalating and when needed exercise enforcement related issues.

What the role entails

Working closely with customers, colleagues, and key stakeholders to build strong and safe communities.

Identifying, preparing, collating, and evaluating evidence for legal action

Undertaking complex casework including attending and giving evidence in Court, Child Protection Conferences and other associated Safeguarding and domestic abuse meetings.

Give full consideration to diversionary and preventative measures prior to undertaking enforcement action

Ensure continued consideration of preventative measures throughout the management of complex cases

To keep accurate and up to date records of actions that are being taken

Develop, encourage, and maintain the values of multi-agency working, ensuring representation at meetings and case conferences,

Work with our partner agencies to investigate and promote new initiatives to prevent the need for enforcement action
