The purpose of this role is to project manage and deliver changes across the Trust in line with national Patient Safety Strategy (2019) for England including,

  • the transfer to the new Patient Safety Incident Response Framework
  • strengthening the Trust’s involvement of patients, carers and local communities in keeping people safer
  • associated changes relevant to the national Patient Safety Strategy

The purpose of the corporate patient safety team is to ensure that, across the trust, systems, processes, policies to keep patients and staff safer. This includes providing specialist patient safety advice, using insights from incident information to identify and manage clinical risks and ensuring an inclusive, supportive, open and transparent learning and improvement culture.

  • Delivering the transfer to the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework across the Trust and ensuring the transition to “business as usual” in new ways of working
  • Working with the patient experience team, delivering change to strengthen the Trust’s involvement of patients, carers and local communities in keeping people safer whilst in the care of UHBW
  • Ensuring that all projects within the post-holder’s remit are managed in accordance with recognised project management principles and are delivered on time, within budget, to the agreed specification and scope, and to the set quality standards required to achieve agreed outcomes and benefits.
  • Taking responsibility for the implementation of the projects and stages in accordance with best-practice project management techniques and methods including the capture and management of risks and issues and the generation of plans for all aspects of the project.
  • Liaising with colleagues and stakeholders throughout the Trust to ensure that their project delivery expectations are understood clearly documented and reliably met.
  • Maintaining current skills in accordance with good practice and be informed about plans, information, developments and trends locally and nationally which might impact the local implementation, including national policies and standards.
