We have a unique opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager to join us to ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
Field Studies Council (FSC) is an environmental education charity providing informative and enjoyable opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to discover, explore, and understand the environment.
The role
This is a key role for us in which you will ensure the FSC meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and operational delivery, including recommended compliance training and reporting.
You will be responsible for providing technical Health & Safety advice to the Senior Leadership Team. You will lead and shape policy and practice, ensuring the organisation is up to date on best practice and champion this at all levels.
Additionally you will provide oversight and quality assurance of operational risk assessments, identify trends and opportunities for learning and maintain an effective emergency response plan.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a NEBOSH qualified Health and Safety Manager with preferably some experience from within a similar or relevant sector. Previous experience of working or coaching within adventurous activities or the outdoor learning sector would be beneficial.
You will have experience of managing Health & Safety systems and policies and be a member of IOSH
The post will require you to travel to all FSC locations nationally, therefore a full valid Driving Licence is required for this role.
