We’re OVO Group, a big family of companies united by a single vision: to get to zero carbon, fast.
We call this Plan Zero – and it shows how we’ll be fighting the climate crisis and transforming the way people use energy over the next decade. To do this, we need the sharpest minds. Are you up for the challenge?
Do great green things with OVO Energy
So much has changed since we launched in 2009. Our goal remains the same though: make energy cheaper, greener, and simpler. Just as it was on day one.
Everyone belongs at OVO
Our aim is to build a diverse and inclusive movement: teams of brilliant people, with unique talents, skills, passions, and experiences.
We encourage everyone to join us, whatever your gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, life experience, or background. So please come as you are – we can’t wait to meet you.
Where in the world of OVO will I be working?
Reporting to the Head of Regulation and Compliance, you’ll play an integral part in making sure Health and Safety is well managed across OVO. You’ll work with senior stakeholders to ensure compliance with our legislative obligations, and that a suitable level of control exists in the right areas to manage our risks.
Much like OVO itself we believe things can be done differently – and better. We believe there’s more to life than “ticking-the-box” and being called only when something goes wrong. The Regulation and Compliance team are a supportive function and play a proactive role in the delivery of OVO’s vision and goals.
What will I be doing?
You’ll support the Head of Regulation and Compliance in developing and implementing the Health and Safety strategy across the constantly evolving OVO group.
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as an independent, proficient advisor to the business including industry specific technical safety and occupational safety, health and wellbeing
- Work with the business to co-create policies, standards and toolkits to manage risks
- Review policies, standards and processes to make sure they’re still valid and working as they should be
- Actively manage our Incident Management System ensuring incidents are managed and closed out accurately
- Participate in our internal governance forums including the Health and Safety committee, trade union committee and technical safety working group
- Monitor and report on performance
Is this the job for me?
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Health and Safety and making positive impacts on people’s lives and our environment. You’re a self-starter who’s delivery focused, loves working collaboratively in teams and builds innovative ways to work.
We are looking for:
- Proven experience in a Health and Safety role in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders
