We are looking for an experienced and competent Health, Safety and Environment manager (HSE Manager) to join us here at the SRA. The role can be based in Birmingham or Cardiff, with regular travel to all three of our offices (London is the third). This is a hybrid role, and you can work from home two – three days a week.

You will be responsible for the Health & Safety, and Environmental Management System for the SRA. A natural communicator at all levels, you will act as an interface with the operational teams and outsourced providers to ensure statutory and contractual compliance.

The HSE Manager reports to the Director of HR and is critical with supporting business operations and the delivery of its strategic aims.

This is a traditional H&S Management role, and we are looking for someone with a demonstrable and accomplished background in a comparable role.

Why us?

  • An experienced professional with a NEBOSH Diploma and an IEMA qualification
  • Previous, significant experience in HSE management in a large multi-site organisation
  • Proven experience of energy management and CRC schemes
  • Qualification as an internal auditor (IRCA) for HSE

The SRA is the independent regulator of solicitors and law firms in England and Wales, protecting consumers and supporting the rule of law and the administration of justice. We do this by overseeing all education and training requirements necessary to practise as a solicitor, licensing individuals and firms to practise, setting the standards of the profession and regulating and enforcing compliance against these standards.
We offer an inclusive, supportive and friendly working environment and the chance to develop your career within a professional organisation. We are committed to the health and wellbeing of staff, helping everyone to strike a good balance between personal and professional life.
