We are looking for an experienced and competent Health, Safety and Environment manager (HSE Manager) to join us here at the SRA. The role can be based in Birmingham or Cardiff, with regular travel to all three of our offices (London is the third). This is a hybrid role, and you can work from home two – three days a week.
You will be responsible for the Health & Safety, and Environmental Management System for the SRA. A natural communicator at all levels, you will act as an interface with the operational teams and outsourced providers to ensure statutory and contractual compliance.
The HSE Manager reports to the Director of HR and is critical with supporting business operations and the delivery of its strategic aims.
This is a traditional H&S Management role, and we are looking for someone with a demonstrable and accomplished background in a comparable role.

What we’re looking for:
- Someone well versed in ensuring legal compliance and the requirements of H&S legislation, corporate EMS, CDM regulations and ISO14001 – and who can bring that knowledge and expertise to the SRA
- An experienced professional with a NEBOSH Diploma and an IEMA qualification
- Previous, significant experience in HSE management in a large multi-site organisation
- Proven experience of energy management and CRC schemes
- Qualification as an internal auditor (IRCA) for HSE
- Degree level education or NVQ level 5 as a minimum
- Project and supplier management experience.

The salary is £39,000 – £46,000 dependant on experience. Additional benefits are an excellent contributory pension scheme (up to 12.25% SRA contribution), 25 days annual leave – rising to 27 after two years’ service, gym membership to Pure Gym or The Gym Group and 3% flex fund that all staff are eligible for upon successful completion of probation (three months).
