We have an exciting opportunity for a Environmental Advisor to join our mission.
This is a big opportunity and a wide-ranging role across a large branded consumer facing business. You will evaluate, improve and develop environmental management systems processes and procedures.
You’ll liaise with external parties and regulators, such as the Environmental Agency and oversee all environmental data, in line with internal and external report requirements. Developing meaningful strategies to continually promote a positive step change in all aspects of environmental management and behaviours whilst supporting our net zero ambition for our business and customers is a big part of your role.
As a specialist you will provide advice on all business environment aspects and impacts such as waste, water management, permits and licences. Networking and comparing practice with peer companies will also help you succeed.
You’ll lead on our 14001 accreditation, assist in environmental investigations and support audits.
Experience required
- You will be experienced in providing environmental advice in both an office and field/site workforce environment
- Corporate environmental experience would be great if you have it and experience of influencing stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
- Conveying complex information simply and being able to challenge constructively will help you deliver in this role
- A great knowledge of environmental legislation and applied controls. For example, your will be able to demonstrate experience in designing, building and improving environmental management systems in line with 14001
- From a qualifications standpoint you will be a Chartered member of IEMA or equivalent and have a recognised environmental qualification be that a degree or similar
Although home based you will need to visit stakeholders and sites occasionally in the UK
