News – HSE Global Series Launches ‘Women in Safety’ Event

The health and safety industry is viewed by many as being somewhat old school, with a focus on process and too much paperwork. In many cases, this is unfortunately still true, but we are making big strides as a profession.

Another area where the health and safety industry has lagged behind others is diversity, both within the boardroom and throughout organisations. Women make up less than 30% of total health and safety professionals, this may be indicative that there could be more done to introduce more women into the world of health and safety.

Women in Safety Congress 2021

As part of the HSE Network and HSE Global Series focus in 2021, we are running a bespoke Congress dedicated to getting more women into the safety field.

HSE Global Series:

“This event has been established to coincide with International Women’s Day. It includes speakers from the newly formed Global Coalition of Women in Safety Networks which has been established to showcase the work of women in OSH from around the world.

Our aim is to create opportunities for women in OSH, provide mutual support and great content which is forward-looking and inclusive. There will be something for everyone at this virtual congress and all are welcome.”
