Digital asbestos management has developed significantly beyond simply storing survey reports as PDFs or maintaining a spreadsheet of asbestos-containing materials. Surveying companies, removal contractors, consultants and property dutyholders are increasingly looking for systems that can capture information in the field, produce reports more efficiently, maintain accessible asbestos records and provide a clearer audit trail of how asbestos risks are being managed.
The difficulty for buyers is that products described as “asbestos management software” often solve very different problems. A surveying consultancy may primarily want to reduce the amount of time its surveyors spend transferring site notes into finished reports. An asbestos removal contractor may be more concerned with plans of work, daily site documentation, employee records and project completion packs. A property dutyholder, meanwhile, may need a live asbestos register that can be updated following inspections, remedial work and changes to the condition of asbestos-containing materials.
This guide looks at five software platforms with credible applications within the asbestos sector. Rather than treating them as directly interchangeable, we have considered the part of the asbestos management process each product appears best suited to support. Customer review ratings and review counts were checked on 29 October 2026.
What should asbestos management software actually do?
There is no single definition of what an asbestos software platform must contain because the regulatory and operational requirements extend across several activities.
Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, dutyholders responsible for non-domestic premises must establish whether asbestos is present, assess its condition and the likelihood of disturbance, maintain an up-to-date record of known or presumed asbestos-containing materials and put arrangements in place to manage the associated risks.
HSE guidance makes clear that the asbestos register should function as a live record rather than simply representing the findings of the original survey. It should be updated when asbestos is removed or repaired, when its condition changes, when further areas are inspected or when new information becomes available. (hse.gov.uk)
The management plan can also be maintained electronically. HSE expects dutyholders to establish responsibilities, monitoring arrangements, information-sharing processes, actions and emergency procedures as part of the wider management system. (hse.gov.uk)
For software buyers, that creates several different requirements. Asbestos surveying software may focus on collecting information in the field and generating reports. Asbestos register software is more concerned with maintaining the continuing record of ACMs within a property portfolio. Removal software focuses on the operational and compliance demands of asbestos removal work, while broader contractor-management platforms can handle jobs, employees, equipment, documents, customers and commercial administration.
Understanding which of these problems needs to be solved is therefore more useful than simply choosing the platform with the longest feature list.
Independent customer review comparison
Independent review coverage is relatively uneven across specialist asbestos software. This is not unusual for niche occupational safety products, where vendors may have established customer bases without generating the volume of public reviews seen in mainstream CRM, accounting or project-management software.
We checked G2, Capterra, GetApp, Software Advice, TrustRadius, Trustpilot and relevant mobile app stores. Where Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice display the same Gartner Digital Markets review population, that pool has been counted once rather than three times.
The figures below are review aggregations only. They are not proprietary product scores and have not been used as the sole basis for determining which product is best suited to a particular application.
The strongest public review signals belong to EasyBOP and OctopusPro, although neither should be interpreted as having the strongest asbestos-specific customer review base.
OctopusPro reviews largely concern its broader field-service platform, while EasyBOP reviews relate to the wider business-management system.
That distinction is important. A high general software rating does not automatically demonstrate the quality of a platform’s asbestos-specific workflow.
1. Flow Mobile Surveying
Best for: Asbestos surveying and report production
Flow Mobile Surveying is one of the most directly relevant products in this comparison for asbestos surveying consultancies. The platform is built around collecting structured information during surveys and reducing the administrative work required to turn site observations, photographs and assessment information into completed client reports.
Surveyors can use phones and tablets to collect information while on site, including photographs and other survey data, with support for offline working where connectivity is limited. Information can then be synchronised and processed through Flow’s web dashboard to produce finished PDF reports.
For asbestos users, Flow provides dedicated templates relating to asbestos surveying and references HSG264 and HSG248 within its product information. This gives it a clearer asbestos-specific position than general-purpose surveying or inspection applications that would require businesses to construct their own workflows from scratch.
The practical attraction is straightforward. Survey businesses often lose considerable time re-entering information after returning from site, particularly where photographs, room descriptions, ACM information and assessment details have been collected separately. A structured digital workflow can reduce that duplication and create a more consistent reporting process across different surveyors.
Flow is not limited to asbestos and is also used across other inspection and surveying activities, including fire safety, legionella and HVAC. The company has nevertheless continued to expand its asbestos proposition. In 2026 it introduced Dutyholder.ai, a separate product intended to extract information from existing asbestos reports and help build asbestos registers for dutyholders.
What do Flow Mobile Surveying reviews say?
Flow Mobile Surveying currently has an Apple App Store rating of 4.6/5 from 10 ratings. (apps.apple.com)
We did not identify verified profiles on G2, Capterra, GetApp, Software Advice or TrustRadius, which means the independent review population remains too small for a meaningful analysis of recurring strengths and weaknesses.
Flow does publish a larger number of customer testimonials in which users commonly refer to faster reporting, ease of use and support. These are useful examples of reported customer experience, but because they have been selected and published by the vendor they should not be considered equivalent to independent review-platform evidence.
Independent review signal: 4.6/5 from 10 App Store ratings.
2. Phoenix Asbestos Software
Best for: Asbestos removal site compliance
Phoenix Asbestos Software addresses a very different part of the industry. Rather than concentrating on asbestos surveys, its Asbestos SM platform has been developed around the operational and documentation requirements associated with asbestos removal projects.
Phoenix states that the system was created by people with practical asbestos removal experience and is intended to reduce the amount of paperwork generated before, during and after projects.
Its functionality covers project setup, site documentation, photographs, signatures, risk assessments, daily checks, smoke tests and project completion information. Site teams can record information digitally while office-based staff retain visibility of project activity, helping to reduce reliance on paper packs and the subsequent work required to compile project records.
Phoenix also extends into workforce and compliance management. Published functionality includes employee training information, equipment certification and personal air-monitoring records. Exposure data can be associated with employees and projects, creating a longer-term record that can be analysed beyond an individual job.
For licensed and non-licensed asbestos removal contractors, this makes Phoenix one of the most specialist options in the group. A surveying consultancy looking primarily to conduct management or refurbishment surveys would have a different set of requirements, but a removal contractor seeking to digitise site administration may find considerably more alignment.
What do Phoenix Asbestos Software reviews say?
We did not identify independent Phoenix profiles on G2, Capterra, GetApp, Software Advice or TrustRadius.
The company publishes testimonials from asbestos-sector customers that refer positively to workflow improvements, usability and reductions in administrative workload. These provide some evidence of practical customer adoption, but they remain vendor-selected testimonials and have therefore not been included in the independent review aggregation.
Independent review aggregation: not calculated.
3. EasyBOP
Best for: Managing the wider asbestos contracting business
EasyBOP is broader than a specialist asbestos surveying or removal application. Developed by Propeller Studios, it is positioned as a cloud-based business operations and construction-management platform, with asbestos among the sectors it serves.
Its value proposition is based on bringing a wider range of operational information into one system. Published capabilities include project and document management, scheduling, compliance tracking, workflow management and mobile field updates.
The EasyBOP Virtual Yard application extends this into equipment and asset management, with SmartForms, inspections, photographs, notes, allocations and QR scanning. Offline functionality is also available for employees working away from reliable connectivity.
For an asbestos contractor, this means EasyBOP can potentially sit above a broader range of business operations than a dedicated survey-writing tool. Jobs, employees, equipment, documentation and compliance information can be brought into a common environment, which may appeal particularly to growing contractors trying to move away from multiple spreadsheets, shared drives and separate administrative systems.
The distinction is that EasyBOP is not primarily an asbestos register or survey-reporting product. Its strength lies in managing the wider organisation around asbestos work.
What do EasyBOP reviews say?
EasyBOP currently has 4.3/5 from 14 reviews across Gartner Digital Markets. Because Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice can display the same underlying reviews, this has been treated as one 14-review pool.
Positive feedback commonly refers to centralising information and business processes, reducing paper-based working and having operational information available in one place. Customer support is another recurring strength, with Capterra currently showing a customer-service rating of 4.6/5.
Criticisms are more varied. Reviewers have mentioned configuration limitations, quoting and CRM functionality, occasional software glitches, search functionality and the level of training required to make full use of a relatively broad system.
G2 separately displays a single EasyBOP review at 4.0/5, but the wording substantially overlaps with an older Capterra review. It has therefore not been counted as a separate independent customer within the aggregation.
Clean independent review signal: 4.3/5 from 14 Gartner Digital Markets reviews.
4. OctopusPro
Best for: CRM, scheduling and field-service management
OctopusPro has the broadest general field-service proposition among the five platforms reviewed.
The system combines CRM, scheduling, bookings, workforce dispatch, quotations, customer communication, invoicing and payments. It is designed primarily to help service businesses manage the commercial and logistical process from initial enquiry through to completion and payment.
OctopusPro also markets a dedicated configuration for asbestos removal businesses. This includes managing customer and property information, enquiries, appointments, job allocation, quotations, invoices, follow-ups and field teams.
For an asbestos contractor, that can address an important but distinct problem. The technical compliance associated with asbestos work is only one part of running the business. Companies also need to respond to enquiries, arrange site visits, allocate appropriately qualified staff, issue quotations, maintain communication with clients and ensure completed work is invoiced.
OctopusPro should therefore be viewed primarily as field-service and business-management software that can be configured for asbestos services, rather than as a specialist asbestos survey or register platform.
What do OctopusPro reviews say?
OctopusPro has the largest independent review footprint in this comparison.
G2 currently reports 5.0/5 from 24 reviews, with positive feedback frequently focusing on scheduling, CRM functionality, workflow automation, usability and customer support. Some users describe a learning curve associated with the breadth of functionality, while customisation is another area where feedback is mixed. (g2.com)
TrustRadius currently gives OctopusPro 9.6/10 from 10 ratings and reviews. Normalised to a five-point scale, that equates to 4.8/5. (trustradius.com)
Using the G2 and TrustRadius populations gives a review-count-weighted aggregate of:
(5.0 × 24 + 4.8 × 10) ÷ 34 = 4.94/5
Gartner Digital Markets separately displays 4.5/5 from 13 reviews, although we have excluded that pool from the clean aggregation because at least one current review contains wording that appears to relate to another CRM product. (capterra.com)
Trustpilot provides an additional perspective, showing 4.1/5 from seven reviews at the time checked. Most comments are positive, although the profile also contains a detailed negative account concerning onboarding, billing and cancellation. Trustpilot’s score uses its own methodology and is therefore shown separately rather than incorporated into the weighted calculation. (uk.trustpilot.com)
Clean review aggregation: 4.94/5 from 34 G2 and TrustRadius ratings/reviews.
These reviews relate to OctopusPro generally and should not be interpreted as reviews specifically from asbestos contractors.
5. AsbestosSurveyPro
Best for: Surveying, ACM registers and ongoing reinspections
AsbestosSurveyPro is the newest product included in this guide and has been developed specifically around UK asbestos surveying and management workflows.
The platform provides room-by-room surveying, ACM data capture, photographs, material assessments and branded PDF reporting.
Where the product becomes more interesting from a wider asbestos-management perspective is what happens after the initial survey. AsbestosSurveyPro maintains an ACM register for each property and supports reinspection activity, CSV exports and historical records. Its Property Passport model is intended to connect the surveys, reports, ACM information and inspection history associated with an individual building.
That approach reflects an important principle within HSE guidance. The asbestos management process should not stop once a survey report has been issued. Information from surveys feeds into the register and management plan, which must then be reviewed and updated as ACMs are inspected, repaired, removed or otherwise change. (hse.gov.uk)
AsbestosSurveyPro also includes team workspaces and office-review capabilities, with mobile and tablet access provided through a progressive web application.
The major qualification is maturity. As of October 2026 the platform remains in early access, while some additional refurbishment and demolition workflow capabilities are still described as being under development.
That does not rule it out, particularly for organisations interested in its combination of surveying and continuing ACM management, but prospective customers should factor product maturity into their evaluation.
What do AsbestosSurveyPro reviews say?
We did not identify independent AsbestosSurveyPro profiles on G2, Capterra, GetApp, Software Advice, TrustRadius or Trustpilot.
Given the product’s early-access status, this is not unexpected.
There is therefore no sufficiently robust independent customer population from which to calculate a review score.
Independent review aggregation: not calculated.
Which asbestos management software is best?
The strongest option depends heavily on the part of the asbestos-management process being digitised.
For asbestos surveying consultancies focused on speeding up field data capture and report production, Flow Mobile Surveying has the clearest established proposition among these five products.
For asbestos removal contractors seeking to digitise site documentation, employee information, project evidence and compliance records, Phoenix Asbestos Software provides the most specialist removal-focused environment.
EasyBOP becomes more relevant where the requirement extends beyond the technical asbestos workflow into broader business operations, including jobs, documents, employees, equipment and scheduling.
OctopusPro is most appropriate where the problem is largely one of field-service administration. Its strength lies in managing enquiries, bookings, workforce allocation, customer communication, quotations and invoices rather than creating specialist asbestos registers.
AsbestosSurveyPro presents an interesting emerging option for organisations that want survey capture to feed into a continuing property-level ACM record and reinspection process, although its early-access status means it has a much shorter track record than the more established platforms.
The key point for buyers is that “asbestos management software” is not one uniform product category. A system that is excellent for running an asbestos removal company may be unsuitable for maintaining a large property portfolio’s asbestos register, while sophisticated surveying software may offer relatively little support for workforce scheduling or commercial administration.
Defining the problem first is therefore essential.
What should buyers look for?
For surveying businesses, the evaluation should concentrate on the quality of field data capture and the efficiency of the reporting workflow. The software should be capable of handling photographs, room and location information, ACM data and assessment information without creating unnecessary duplication between site and office.
Removal contractors should place more emphasis on project documentation, plans of work, risk information, site records, signatures, employee competency information, exposure records and the creation of an auditable project file.
Dutyholders and property managers have a different set of priorities. They need to consider whether the platform can maintain a live register, record ACM condition and actions, manage reinspections and make relevant information available to people who could disturb asbestos.
HSE specifically states that asbestos information must be provided to people who are liable to disturb ACMs, including maintenance workers and contractors. (hse.gov.uk)
For larger portfolios, the way information is made available can therefore be almost as important as the original survey itself.
HSE’s own example of an electronic asbestos-management system describes a database in which asbestos registers can be updated live, external users can be given access, usage can be monitored and individual plans, photographs and location-specific asbestos information can be retrieved. (hse.gov.uk)
That provides a useful benchmark for organisations evaluating whether their current arrangements genuinely amount to digital asbestos management or simply electronic document storage.
Review methodology
Independent review sources were checked on 29 October 2026.
Research covered G2, Capterra, GetApp, Software Advice, TrustRadius, Trustpilot and relevant app stores.
Where Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice appeared to show the same underlying Gartner Digital Markets reviews, the review population was counted once.
Where a review appeared duplicated or contained information that raised doubts about whether it referred to the correct product, it was excluded from the clean weighted aggregation.
Vendor-selected testimonials have not been counted as independent reviews.
The aggregated customer ratings shown in this article are straightforward mathematical combinations of eligible published ratings. They are not proprietary software scores and have not been used alone to determine our editorial recommendations.
Software functionality and pricing can change. Organisations should verify required features, regulatory suitability, integrations, implementation requirements and current product capabilities directly with shortlisted providers before purchasing.
This article is currently purely editorial and the rankings are not in any particular order; we do open to these reviews to advertorial campaigns and this is clearly stipulated when applicable. We only work with providers we genuinely consider to be amongst the best in the field.
