Introducing the RealWear Navigator: Next Generation Assisted Reality for Industry

In our recent series of assisted reality articles, we have introduced our HSE Network audience to leading technology from RealWear, outlining its benefits for health and safety and showing how businesses today are already reaping the rewards. Now, we are very excited to introduce the all-new RealWear Navigator 500 – the next generation industrial strength assisted reality solution.

Announced yesterday, the RealWear Navigator 500 introduces a brand-new modular design which is lighter and slimmer than the HMT, features a 48MP camera and true hot swappable battery, as well as bringing a serious set of processor, memory and storage upgrades.

Taking a big step forward in assisted reality, this new release is designed to engage, empower and elevate the modern frontline worker. Enabling users to connect and collaborate with remote experts, follow digital workflows, visualise IoT data and much more, it retains the strengths of the original HMT solution while delivering some practical, key updates which enhances the user’s experience and safety:

  • Full-shift, hands-free use: work comfortably all day and easily hot swap the battery without losing time or compromising safety.

  • Revolutionary modular design: on-the-job agility and adaptability to support even more use cases, e.g. swap out the provided camera for an even higher megapixel or specialist camera.

  • Enhanced remote collaboration: improve productivity while reducing travel and downtime with less effort thanks to advanced image stabilisation and two camera modes, one great for low-light performance, and the other perfect for enhanced zoom.

  • Secure, seamless sign-on and enterprise deployment; reducing time to deploy and manage the device fleet.

“It’s great to see RealWear creating such practical products, adding the functionality that makes sense, improving what’s already working, and really just delivering benefits that provide value to the end user. The new Navigator 500 is, in my opinion, ready to lead the market of industrial aR and provide the environment for customers to reap all the benefits of a connected worker. I’m really excited to see what our partners and their customers will do with all this capability!” said Tim Patrick, Head of Product at Westbase.io, HSE Network partner and leading UK and EU RealWear distributor.

“With pandemic concerns continuing to press upon the global economy, how technology is enabling a ‘new way to work’ is very much in focus, particularly for industrial frontline workers,” said Andrew Chrostowski, Chairman and CEO of RealWear.

“Today we’re unveiling something far bigger than a product. The RealWear Navigator 500 delivers the next generation of work with a ‘reality-first, digital-second’ enterprise solution for remote collaboration, operational efficiency, and hybrid work in safety-critical industries. Assisted reality – more so than augmented or virtual reality – is designed specifically for the frontline worker who requires both hands for the job, striking the perfect balance of keeping workers 100% present and self-aware with the ability to safely navigate industrial surroundings. Afterall, nobody wants to be near hazardous equipment with their head stuck into the metaverse.”
